2001;Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc;Marlborough;New Zealand

Light color. Nose is citrus, pineapple and Gooseberry. The tropical fruits onthe nose is put together with a firm complex grip. Very harmonic and the taste is great. One of the greates CB I have tasted. Only surpassed by the 1996. (93)

Tasted April 2004

1990;Cloudy Bay Chardonnay;Marlborough;New Zealand

Surprise! Cloudy Bay should be dead and burried by now but NO. The color is golden yellow and the nose took us all by storm. The big surplus is that it's still has a lot of freshness and crisp left. The oak is still there but it has so much more that you don't notice it. Complex...? The age has for sure developed some nuances that wasn't previously there..but to answer the question
it's not complex but extremly seductive. The taste can't match the nose. It's a bit short. But the nose..wow! (92+)

Once again a fun TN for me to see 4 years later. This was a fun wine to taste. I would probably had appreciated a bit more minerals today with my current preference
