Yes they seemed to have changed that. Before it was divided into two sessions, with professionals in the morning and “the rest” after lunch.
What they have done in the last few years is simply to close the inscription when they had enough attendees.
In all fairness, the event has grown more and more popular during the years and it’s the backyard of the Hotel is quite small, with little space to move around.….this year even sees two more producers. I am guessing it has something to do with that.
These producers are among the most friendly and open-minded and the last thing they want to signal is closed gates and a snobby attitude.
I hope you will have the chance to both taste and visit some of these names if you are ever in Champagne.
