(From 0.375 cl. Bottle)
Syrup, caramel and honey. Taste is a bit warm with spices and missed somewhat on the back palate. I guess it was late in the evening, so I haven’t written that much. (93+)

1990 Chateau d’Yquem, Sauternes/Barsac, Bordeaux, France
(From 0.375 cl. Bottle)
Almost impossible to be served after the 2001 Chateau d’Yquem. But this is a fantastic wine – more evolved of course with; latex, apricot, pineapple and good fair purity. When I say fair on the purity note, it could actually be a bit better – a cooler breeze of liveliness of freshness could have provided the edge. The taste is good with good concentration, but again missing the definition to score higher. (95)

Mama Mia – this wine is scary. I think it’s fair to say that it’s by far the best dessert wine I have ever tasted. This is fluent gold with eight double turbo engines taking you from 0-paridise in a blink of a second. It’s actually impossible to write a TN on it, as I can’t get through the layers of fruit, even if I took a vacation in the glass – seriously impressive; apricot, almond essence, raisins, pineapple and even liquorice. The taste is almost harder to describe as the liquid glues to the palate for nearly forever, but still in an elegant manner. There can only be one score to such a wine (100).

2001 Chateau Suduiraut
There is something about the 2001 vintage in Sauternes. I feel the same thing about these wines as I do with the 1996 Vintage in Champagne. They both possess the same insane freshness which controls the botrytis overbite and the fat and oily stile. The Suduiraut has orange peel, caramel and dried apricot. The acidity is perfect – providing the mentioned fresh attack and keeping the wine vibrant. Stunning dessert wine.

2001 Rieussec, Sauternes
