First impression was that the nose was very sweet with the classic 90-nose with loads of choclate and black currant. As the wine rested in glass in developed a bit more "green" stuff..herbs. The wine is perfectly mature now an showed the best 90-Lagune drinking ever. Not super complex or anything but fair drinking pleasure.

Fair to say that I am not a oversea chardonnay fan. The Hanzell Chardonnay had a classic butter
wood nose. The wine should be dead by now but it managed to produce some fruit though the wood was there to take away any kind of complexity. (87+)

WOW! Can Merlot taste like this?..cinnamon prunes chocolate..where is the duck and Santa? This is a frut driven monster who will get many fans. I have never tastet so soft tannins

Fun to see this TN again in 2008. Taste can really change. Last time I tasted this wine - I hated it. So heavy and thick structured.

Take Shafer and put a turbo engine in it then you have Harlan..that's on the nose. I like Harlan better it's more open with more tar and more pure than shafer. The taste is very long..very nice. (97)

Very dark colour. There is smoke leather cofee and herbs. Not particular Napa

Decantet for almost 3½ hours, but still rather closed. But just one hour later´it began to perform. Sweetness (chocolate) started to emerge but the mineral tone from the Merlot made shure that the wine was in a frim grib. The taste is very classic with loads of structure. The tannin is classic Cotarella- very soft and powerful. Save this beauty just another year or two (91-94)
