2001 Arnaldo Caprai, Sagarntino di Montefalco 25 Anni, Umbria, Italy

My fellow taster must be insane to bring a bottle like this. To say that this wine is young is an understatement. Never ever tasted a wine with so my dry extract – like tongue kissing with a hairdryer. The nose has smoke, leather, dust and rough edges of raw powerful structure. Its fascinating stuff to smell, but of course it don’t really tell the story that it will in 10-15 years time. (91-95)

Tasted 1st of September 2005. Glass: Riedel Sommelier Bordeaux Granc Cru.
