2000 Lamborghini, Campoleone, Umbria, Italy

Dark red. Grass, olive oil mocha and a milk chocolate surface is underneath. Charming and sexy for sure and it touched the palate with a soft and silky structure. It’s almost too much as everything blends together and is lacking in ”bite”. After 4 hours in the Decanter the structure got more firm and better. A very nice wine. (92+)

Tasted 22. February 2005. Glass: Riedel Sommelier Bordeaux Grand Cru

2000 Lamborghini, Campoleone, Umbria, Italy

(This is what I remember –had this a week ago at celebration of midsummer) Not decanted. Blackcurrant, black fruits, dark bitter chocolate, fair amount of new oak, and mocha. Classic smooth concentrated finish. The wine gained strength for every pour in the glass, but never proved convincingly complexity. A pleasurable wine that could benefit from cellaring as the oak is still dominate and controls the complex layers. However its fruit pattern and the style of the oenologist suggest that the complex notes will be limited. (90)
