2000 La Spinetta, Passito Oro, Piemonte, Italy

Lovely fresh oily core with apricot, caramel and peaches. The layers of complexity are however fairly low as the oily fruity core is dominate. Taste has a well balanced weight of sweetness and the wine continues its path from the nose and shows a light weighted body with a smooth and seductive taste. The acidity is the wines downside – its melts on the mid palate with its oily core and never seems to challenge the back palate. However – it’s a charming wine, which despite the low acidity is not heavy at all to drink. (89)
