2000 La Rampa di Fugnano, Gisele IGT, Tuscany, Italy

A 100% Merlot, and a very seductive nose with warm chocolate and vanilla flavours. There is a lot of influence by Barriques and the fruit is almost overseas and come across with warmth and grassy profile like we know it from olive oil. Lack of finesse and a bit too simple at some stages but it gives great drinking pleasure on a Thursday night (91)

Tasted 3. February 2005. Glass: Riedel Sommelier Bordeaux Grand Cru
